Pre-eclampsia Foundation Fundraiser Piece

I have loved this necklace since I first saw it a few years ago. I hadn't ever figured out how to make it though. I thought I could do it with wire, but wasn't sure if that was how it was actually done. I finally figured out, it was done exactly how I was thinking.

This piece is a literal pain to make. My fingers still hurt. It used over 90 pearls and around 50 crystals. I am thinking about donating it to the Pre-eclampsia Foundation Walk-A-Thon Silent Auction in June. For those who may not know, my second daughter (Kelsi) was born 4 months early due to pre-eclampsia. She lost her fight for life just 2 1/2 days after being born, weighing only 13 oz and 21cm long. You can read more about her on her website. If you would like to make a donation to the Pre-eclampsia foundation or just find out more information please visit their website.

I wore this to church today and got all sorts of comments. It just sparkles and hangs beautifully. I recently finished a bracelet and earrings to match. I will post pictures as soon as I get them taken.

This one is made with glass pearls and swarovski crystals. I also used sterling silver wire and sterling silver rolo chain for the back. The head pins are silver plate. I didn't have enough sterling headpins. I didn't realize it was going to use so many. It is a choker and is expandable to 17 1/2" long.

This piece is valued around $200. I sure hope we can get at least that much for the Pre-eclampsia Foundation.

Any comments and suggestions on this piece are always appreciated.
