My first cast piece - completely finished

I was contacted back in September by a friend of mine with a request to make a necklace for her. She was very patient while I took the time to learn a few new skills to make the pendant. The pendant itself is based on a tattoo on the character of Sirius Black in the Harry Potter Movies.

I made a wax mold of the piece and then went through the process of sprueing, investing and casting the piece. That was a lot of fun. I had seen pictures of how to cast through this method, but never thought I would actually get to do it. But I did, and I have done such since. I will also be doing some more in the near future. We only have 4 weeks of school left. *Sniff Sniff* Luckily, I just signed up for two more classes. YAY!

The chain is completely hand forged and fabricated. I felt the piece was an "old" piece and should look like it has been around for ages. It sure does too. Each link is slightly or drastically different than the next. I applied an antiquing solution to give it that aged feeling.

I was kind of nervous to hear what my client said about it. She gave me complete control of the piece and she said she would trust what I came up with. I am so relieved to announce that she LOVES it! WOOHOO!!! Success!
