Do you have a dedicated studio/artistic space? YES!
Where is it located? In the basement.
Is it a large or small space? It started as a table, and I have now consumed almost all of the basement, except for the laundry room.
What medium(s) do you work in? The majority of my work is now in copper and sterling silver, with the occasional semi-precious gemstones and lampwork beads thrown in. Do you have a separate area for each? No separation at all, in fact the more mixing of the metals, the better!
What one word would you use to describe your studio? chaotic
What do you think is the best feature of your studio? the door, because it closes and then no one can see my mess.
What would you change if you could? Several things, but most of all the walls. They have weird wood slats on them, making it nearly impossible to put up any shelves.
Can you share an organizational tip? No. That word is completely foreign to me.
Describe the usual state of your work table? Covered
Does your work table face out into the room or toward the wall? Towards a wall
What's one drawback of your studio/artistic space? The lack of usable wall space, and the lighting is pretty bad too.
Do you have any studio mascots (pets, mannequin whatever)? My cat Ginger watches over me and as soon as I turn to the steps (where my steel block is) she comes down and starts licking my face OR the hammer.
Do you have an idea wall or inspiration board? No - good idea though!
Do you listen to music in your studio? Yep! What kind? Generally a jazz/blues mixture from Pandora. Or on Saturday's, NPR as all my favorite shows are on.
Do you display your own work in your studio? No, unless you count the piles of work on my stairs waiting to be oxidized and/or photographed.
