Tool Time Tuesday - Lubricating Your Flexshaft Drill
I know this post is a little bit late, but it took me a while to figure out all the video editing software. I don't even know if this will work correctly or not, but I figured it was worth a try. This is my very first video post. My good friend and talented jewelry artist, Valerie Heck came over tonight and we had a lot of fun filming this segment. If it works well and you all like it, please let me know and I will do more. Hopefully this is the first of many things to come, including online classes with me.

I am so grateful to all of my blog readers. I am averaging around 150 hits per day, and that is even with my lack of posting lately. I am trying really hard to get back into posting more regularly, but as you will see in my video, there is a certain someone that keeps me from the studio these days. And to make matters worse, school is out for the summer. So I have an additional two people here at home that need entertaining.
With that said, I will continue to do my best to keep the Tool Time Tuesday and Featured Artist Friday posts coming. Hopefully some day soon I will also make it back into the studio to just create. In the meantime, my readership continues to increase and what better way to celebrate than a fabulous give-away. I have ordered an extra pair of Tronex Chain Nose pliers. I will also have a couple of other items (jewelry, tools, gems, etc.) to add to the pot of gift choices. Once my subscribership reaches 500, I will hold the give away. I will most likely do this the same way as the last, which was quite successful. You will only need to leave a comment on my blog and I will draw from the entrants. So spread the word and let's get this fabulous give away going.
To subscribe, just enter your email address in the upper left hand corner where it says "Subscribe." That is it. Once you subscribe, you will receive an email everytime I make a blog post. Sometimes you will get two posts in a day, and with the way things have gone lately, you will only get one or two a month. Hopefully though you will get a couple of emails a week.
Tell Me What You Think...
As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated. Please take the time to let me know what you think of the video. Would you like to see more? Or should I stick with descriptions and still photos?

Would love to have seen the vid, however, when I clicked on play, nothing happened. Hmmmm....

I posted another link to the You.Tube version. Hopefully you will be able to see it there.

The video must be Flash since I can't view it on my I-Pad. Have to try it on the I-Mac later.

I hate that I can't watch it on my iPad or other Mac products. I didn't realize it would be converted to Flash until after the post was made. I will start posting them on You.Tube so it will be easier to watch.

The U-Tube is missing. Saw it on the Facebook though and it was very good. Who knew you had to take all of that apart to lubricate?

Excellent! I never knew I had to lube the flex shaft. Mine is a dremel though. I'll have to check out how to do it on the dremel version. The only thing that could have improved the video was more baby shots. What a cutie.

Thanks Lois. I don't know about the dremel either, but I would think that you would still need to maintain the flexshaft. Let me know what you find out.

Great video Melissa. I never thought of taking the whole thing apart to grease the innards! Loved the background music provided by the beautiful Kiari too.

Thanks Yvonne, Yeah, the background "Muisc" is the soundtrack of my life lately. LOL.

Great first attempt. Looking forward to next installment. Loved the painted fingernails - obviously you haven't had much time in your studio!

Nope, not much time for the studio at all lately. LOL. I always tell people you can tell if I have been working in the studio or not by the state of my fingernails. If they are nice.... you KNOW i haven't been in there.

The video played just fine for me right here on your blog!

I liked the video. I was pleased that there was not a lot of jumping around and the sound was clear, unlike many other videos I have seen. Thanks.

Thank You Debbie. I have to say that I was rather pleased with that myself. Hopefully, they will only get better and better as I figure out how to do all of this. Of course it helped that I had great help on the back side of the camera.

Great video & cute baby! I'd love to see more videos. I just recently got a flex shaft, so maybe a video of what to use it for would be nice - you know, just the basics. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Karen, that is one of the things on my list. I have just "inherited" a ton of tools and would like to feature those. I am still learning all the things you can do with a flexshaft as well. Thank you for the suggestion. Keep them coming!

I followed the other link to YouTube and loved it!! Thanks for the info--I haven't had my flexshaft too long, but it's good to know. I love any opportunity to do visual learning--the written information doesn't alwayscome across the same way.
Thanks again! Hope you and your family are fabulous!!

Thanks Elenor.
Glad you liked it. I know what you mean about the visual learning. For me, if I see it and hear it, I get it. I get it by reading.... sometimes, but I am definitely a visual and auditory learner.
